Making an impact: you versus everyone else at an exhibition
Exhibitions should be simple: all those people, all those potential sales and YOU sitting there ready to clean up and spread your brand’s awareness. So…how come it isn’t? It’s probably due to a few factors, like:
1) So much competition boggles peoples minds.
2) Not everyone who attends an exhibition is spending money. A large percentage are doing the equivalent of window shopping.
3) You can’t always predict human nature.

…it doesn’t matter what your age is, colour is interesting and flat grey really isn’t
1) Make yourself visible beyond the exhibition stand: that doesn’t mean getting a mega-phone out, it just means asking the event organisers what your rights are as exhibitors. If they say it’s fine to wander around on the back of an elephant with a huge attention-grabbing carrot sellotaped to your head, then why don’t you do it?
2) People love free things. If you have samples of things, or food, or both, then that will attract people, so make sure you do your best to look attractive!
3) Make sure your stand isn’t boring: OK, so this is subjective, but the point is this – it doesn’t matter what your age is, colour is interesting and flat grey really isn’t. Make your stand into a work of art and the people will come. Even if they don’t buy anything or enquire then chances are that they will at least remember the experience. That’s good, because word of mouth spreads like nothing else. Be sure to take advantage!
